Italian yard Tankoa has released details of its 76m (249ft) T760 Apache concept featuring a “suspended in space” pool and a vast beach club.
The 1,515GT steel and aluminum design comes from the pen of Alberto Mancini and showcases clean exterior lines, resembling the feathers of an arrow, and what the yard is calling some “never-seen-before-luxury-features”.
“I am very happy, after many years of acquaintance, to be able to collaborate on such a prestigious project with Alberto Mancini,” says Giuseppe Mazza, Tankoa Sales and Marketing Manager. “Despite his young age, I consider him to be one of the leading yacht designers in the world. I believe the swimming pool suspended in the bow between the upper deck and main deck is a visionary idea by Alberto, who once again amazes with innovative solutions.”
The 125 square meter (1,350 sq. ft) beach club is central to the concept. It features folding side terraces, a floodable swimming pool and is connected to the garage which, when free of tenders, offers even more deck space.
“I wanted to avoid the typical cave dark effect that today we see in many beach clubs,” says Mancini. “Indeed, Apache’s beach club design is not just an area for accessing the sea to be enjoyed only when anchored during the day; it is fully integrated with the main deck salon so it can be used day or night as an extension of the outdoor living space.”
The other notable feature is the palatial master stateroom on the upper deck forward with direct access to a 9.5m (31ft) ‘flying pool’ forward. The pool has a glass bottom, which makes it feel like you are swimming suspended in space and allows light to trickle down into the semi-open lounge and gym on the deck below. Tankoa claim such a foredeck feature has never been attempted before on a superyacht.
Elsewhere the yacht features four guest cabins on the main deck, which is also home to a 118 square meter (1,270 sq. ft) main deck salon and dining room. A luxurious VIP suite can be found in the bow.
Other highlights include a bridge deck with spacious wheelhouse, an open aft deck with a second pool, a top deck observation lounge with panoramic views and a dedicated cinema room.
Apache has two propulsion options: twin CAT C3512E or twin MTU V4000M73 engines for a top speed of 16.5 knots, cruising speed of 15 knots and a range of 5,000nm.
Genoa-based Tankoa is a newcomer to the industry, only debuting its first yacht, 69.3m (227ft) SUERTE six years ago at the Monaco Yacht Show. However, it has already made its mark, especially with its award-winning S501 and S701 series which have picked up a host of awards and nominations.
Earlier this summer it also revealed its brand new Sportiva Line of superyachts, measuring between 45m and 65m (147ft and 213ft), and announced the sale of its first T580 ‘worldwide explorer’ yacht. To view its impressive fleet of yachts in more detail you can browse all Tankoa Yachts for sale.
Alberto Mancini is held in high esteem in the yachting world and has forged a close relationship in particular with both Azimut and Overmarine. According to YachtBuyer intelligence, since the start of 2020, he has been responsible for the design of 19 yachts delivered by these two builders alone. Azimut's flagship and first-ever trideck yacht, the Grande Trideck, was the work of Mancini and showcases his Italian flair and refined styling.
