Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 9.4m beam and a 3.4m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 671 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the fifteenth yacht built on the Amels 180 design. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in April 2019 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in July 2019.
Exterior Design
The distinctive allure of the Amels-built luxury yacht Nomad is immediately apparent in its striking exterior, a manifestation of the esteemed Tim Heywood's remarkable design prowess. Characterized by its "Nomad blue" hull, the vessel boasts a presence that is both conspicuous and distinctive, yet refined—a harmonious blend of youthful exuberance and confident maturity.
As the 24th hull of the acclaimed Limited Editions series, Nomad builds upon a legacy that commenced in 2007 with the launch of the 52.3-meter DENIKI. The series' relaunch in 2012 with the 55-meter Step One saw the introduction of the Amels 180, which subtly augmented the yacht's dimensions to incorporate a spacious beach club and an enlarged sundeck—now a signature feature of the Amels 180 design.
The sundeck, which spans an impressive 180 square meters, serves as a testament to Heywood's design philosophy, merging aesthetics with functionality. This sprawling open-air retreat is a haven for relaxation and entertainment, thoughtfully segmented to cater to the diverse needs of a large family, allowing them to come together or find solace in solitude. The sundeck's layout is meticulously designed to offer both sunny and shaded areas, thanks to the graceful curves that rise to meet the radar arch, creating a protective cocoon without sacrificing the openness of the space.
Furnishings on deck are intentionally free-standing, offering the flexibility to reconfigure the space for different occasions, whether it be for morning workouts, afternoons lounging in the 3.5-tonne capacity Jacuzzi, or enjoying evening cocktails and movies under the stars. This design choice underscores the yacht's versatility, making it the ideal venue for both intimate gatherings and grand festivities.
The Nomad's compelling "Nomad blue" exterior is not just a statement of style but also a technical achievement. The color's application required a flawless fairing process, with the paint itself needing to be of the highest quality to achieve the desired effect. The result is a finish that is lauded as one of Amels' best to date, setting Nomad apart not only in aesthetics but also in the precision of its execution.
Interior Design
Collaborative efforts of Southern California-based interior designers Bonesteel Trout Hall and the yacht's experienced owners have culminated in an environment that is both welcoming and stylish, reflecting the essence of luxury yachting.
Throughout Nomad's interior, the designers have skillfully employed a palette of neutral tones, accentuated by the satin finish of light sycamore wood and the gleaming polished chrome, to create a serene and timeless backdrop. This choice of materials and finishes ensures that the yacht's interior spaces feel expansive and light-filled, promoting an atmosphere of calm and relaxation.
In a striking contrast to the subdued background, vivid bursts of color are introduced through bespoke decor elements such as custom silk Tai Ping rugs, which add a touch of personality and vibrancy to the living areas. The commitment to personalization is further evidenced by the distinctive wall coverings, including color-graduated wallpapers from Calico, which bring depth and texture to the space.
Nomad's designers have also paid meticulous attention to the yacht's dining experience. The standout dining table and chairs from Hellman-Chang, renowned for their graceful lines and focus on negative space, make a bold statement and enhance the dining atmosphere. The ensemble is particularly striking against the backdrop of the ocean, with its bright yellow chairs providing an impactful contrast to the blue waters.
Art plays a significant role in defining Nomad's character, with carefully chosen black and white photography, multimedia pieces, and sculptures creating focal points throughout the living spaces. The art collection, curated in collaboration with California-based art dealer Travis Hansson, is described as fun, young, and whimsical, reflecting the family's spirited approach to life on the water.
The designers' experience in residential spaces shines through in the yacht's upper saloon, which exudes a homelike ambiance with furnishings from prominent US brands such as Holly Hunt, Hellman-Chang, Bright, and Troscan. The choice of furniture and decor underscores the family's desire for a space that balances brightness and airiness with a chic and trendy vibe.

Accommodation aboard Nomad is meticulously crafted to ensure the utmost comfort for her guests. The yacht gracefully accommodates a large family or group, featuring a generous layout that encompasses a total of six luxurious cabins. This voluminous space is designed to comfortably house up to twelve guests, ensuring that each individual experiences the serenity and opulence inherent to the Nomad lifestyle.
The owner's suite, a masterpiece of design and comfort, offers a sanctuary for the principal guests. Further enhancing the guest experience, Nomad boasts five additional staterooms, each a testament to the yacht's dedication to luxury and relaxation. The cabins are thoughtfully appointed with sumptuous beds, fine linens, and state-of-the-art entertainment systems, ensuring a tranquil environment for rest and rejuvenation.
Of particular note is the ingenious two-cabin arrangement on the lower deck, which can be transformed into one expansive suite. This flexible space is ideal for younger guests or additional family members, offering a versatile area that can accommodate up to seven occupants in a bunk-style setting. This unique feature underscores Nomad's family-friendly ethos, providing a comfortable and engaging environment for all ages.

Each crew member is provided with their own secure and comfortable living quarters, ensuring they are well-rested and prepared to deliver the highest level of service. This attentive crew is the backbone of the Nomad experience, seamlessly tending to every need and desire of the guests to ensure an unforgettable journey.
Performance & Capabilities
Nomad is powered by twin diesel MTU (16V 2000 M70) 1,308hp engines, designed to ensure reliable performance and efficient navigation through the seas. The specifics of the engines, such as their make and horsepower, are meticulously chosen to align with the yacht's design philosophy, prioritizing both power and grace. These engines are engineered for longevity and are equipped to propel Nomad across vast stretches of ocean with ease.
Nomad is capable of reaching a top speed of 15 knots, and comfortably cruises at 13 knots, ensuring that guests can enjoy swift travel times between destinations without compromising on the tranquility and stability of their journey.
With her 115,000-litre fuel tanks, she has a maximum range of 5,100 nautical miles at an economic speed of 12 knots, Nomad is fully engineered for long-distance cruising, offering the freedom to explore the world's most picturesque and remote locations. This extensive range is a product of careful engineering, ensuring that the yacht can undertake extended voyages with confidence, providing owners and guests the luxury of discovery without the constraints of frequent refueling stops.
Understanding the paramount importance of comfort onboard, Nomad is equipped with state-of-the-art stabilizers.
