Superyachts might be the biggest member of the yacht community, but they are also the main drivers for design, technology and engineering innovation, a fact that makes superyacht awards some of the most exciting and hard fought.

Often, size is part of the award-winning yacht's make-up, the bigger the yacht, the more features and specification that can be worked in, but some of the most exciting design moments are as likely to come at 50m as 100m.

Equally, superyacht awards can be for painstaking and highly considered refits. This might be taking a classic back to its former glory or completely changing a yachts design.
