Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement w/ bulbous bow ice class steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 45'11" beam and a 12'4" draft. The yacht is built over 6 decks with an internal volume of 2,560 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a heli-pad.

Construction started in mid 2018. This was the first yacht built on the SeaXplorer 77 design. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in June 2019 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in October 2020.

Exterior Design

La Datcha's exterior is characterized by its clean vertical lines, a signature of the Damen Sea Axe hull design. This, along with an axe bow, contributes to the yacht's robust and efficient performance in all sea conditions. The potent yet sleek profile of the yacht is achieved through a careful balance of strength and beauty, creating a striking hybrid design that is both head-turning and functional.

La Datcha was specifically extended to accommodate an array of water sports equipment, including a dive center and submarine operations. This makes La Datcha not just a luxury yacht, but a true hub for adventurous exploration.

The exterior decks are marked by their simplicity of style and their space. Whether it's the aft bridge deck, the bridge deck sunpads, or upper deck dining, each space has been designed to offer guests the maximum comfort and enjoyment. Every aspect of the exterior design, from the enclosed observation lounge in the bow to the fully certified open flight deck on the upper deck aft, has been thoughtfully planned to ensure the best possible experience for those on board.

The distinctive bronze-tone hull paint lends a touch of sophistication and elegance to the robust design. This choice of color not only enhances the yacht's overall aesthetic appeal but also reflects the theme of fire, significant to the owner of La Datcha.

A fitting testament to the impressive capacities of Damen’s SeaXplorer range, 77m (257ft) explorer yacht ‘La Datcha’ is decked out with nautical gadgets, fun accessories and all the latest on-land and in-water toys.

Interior Design

The interior of La Datcha uses natural materials such as oak, leather, bronze, natural marble and onyx, stone mosaics, and wool rugs on the floors. The main and lower decks revolve around a water theme, with jellyfish-shaped lamps from Wired Custom Lighting in the gym and coffee tables with silver fish in the master cabins. The upper deck, on the other hand, is devoted to earth. The interior palette is subtle, with neutral tones beautifully accented with reds in the northern latitudes and blues in the south.

To ensure that the yacht is suited for both winter and summer, the interior decor was designed to adapt to the change in seasons. The pattern of decorative panels in the main saloon may appear traditionally Russian to some, but for others, it will evoke a Mexican vibe. The theme of fire, particularly important to the owner, is reflected in the stunning bronze-tone hull paint and the fireplaces in the upper deck saloon.

No expedition yacht is complete without a spa and wellness center. La Datcha's spa offers direct access to the beach club and the fully equipped gym. A traditional hammam and Finnish sauna made by the German spa specialist Klafs are supplemented by an LED-lit stalagmite ice fountain that allows guests to enjoy the contrast of cold ice on hot skin after a sauna.

One of the most striking features of La Datcha is the enclosed observation lounge in the bow with its 270-degree panoramic view and adjacent open deck. Designed for both practicality and pleasure, those on watch can see forward and operate the vessel safely, while guests also benefit from superb views.

Accommodation

La Datcha can comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests in six well-appointed cabins, including two spacious master suites and a VIP suite. Alongside these, three additional guest cabins on the upper deck provide comfortable and stylish accommodation. With a 2.2-meter ceiling height, each cabin exudes spaciousness.

The lower deck aft has 10 twin-bunked cabins for officers and crew. In addition, three twin-bunk cabins are available for expedition staff. This forward-thinking layout ensures that both guests and crew have the space they need for extended voyages.

Performance & Capabilities

La Datcha was designed with the new IMO Polar Code and Ice Class in mind, featuring retractable stabilizers and a strengthened hull that can withstand the harsh conditions of drifting ice floes and submerged logs.

Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V 4000 M63) 16-cylinder 5,438hp engines running at 1800rpm, motor yacht La Datcha is capable of reaching a top speed of 14 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 175,000 litre fuel tanks, she has a maximum range of 6,000 nautical miles at 12 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters.

The yacht's layout has been carefully planned to accommodate two Airbus H125 helicopters, allowing for safe and efficient aerial exploration. The helicopters can be prepared for flight quickly and are stored on the fully certified open flight deck located on the upper deck aft. The ability to launch two helicopters simultaneously is particularly crucial in remote areas where rescue services may not be readily available. The yacht has a tank capacity of approximately 10,000 liters of jet fuel, translating to about 40 hours of flight time.

The yacht houses a 9.26-meter custom rescue boat and limousine tender, built by Fassmer, and a 9.1-meter RIB tender by Insider Yachts. These are launched through a shell door in the main deck aft, enabling the crew to respond quickly to any situation.

La Datcha perfectly captures the spirit of adventure while ensuring comfort and luxury, providing a unique and unforgettable yachting experience.

Amenities

The yacht boasts specialist underwater equipment, complete with a certified dive center and decompression chamber. It is staffed by four commercial dive instructors, all of whom hold nitrox certification, guaranteeing safety and expertise for all diving excursions. Additionally, the vessel is equipped with a Triton submersible, operated by two pilots and an engineer, capable of reaching depths of 500 meters.
