What will be one of the largest yachts in the world both by length and volume, Lürssen’s 160m (524ft) superyacht BLUE, has been launched at the builder’s Bremen shipyard.
Details around the superyacht have been scant as she has been constructed entirely undercover and no renders have ever been shared of her lines, but with a speculated volume of 15,320GT and measuring around 158m (518ft) in length she will be a blockbusting superyacht in every sense of the word.

Upon her delivery superyacht BLUE will rank as the fourth largest superyacht on the water in the Top 100 Longest Yachts, exceeded only by Platinum Yachts 162m (531.5ft) superyacht DUBAI, the Blohm + Voss 162.5m (533ft) superyacht ECLIPSE and Lürssen’s own 180.65m (592.6m) superyacht AZZAM.
Superyacht BLUE will also be one of the most voluminous superyachts in the world at number three in the YB100, with her estimated Gross Tonnage being greater than all three of the superyachts that are longer than her. She falls just short of her Lürssen compatriot 156m (512ft) superyacht DILBAR, which is, at 15,917GT, the largest superyacht by gross volume in the world.
Lürssen is well known as one of the foremost builders of full-custom superyachts in the world. The German yard was responsible for building two of the three largest superyachts delivered in 2021, 141.6m (464.5ft) Superyacht NORD and 115m (377ft) superyacht AHPO and also has delivered four of the six largest superyachts ever made.
It should come as little surprise then that YachtBuyer intelligence shows that of the 15 yachts the yard has in its order book nine of them measure over 100m (328ft). Superyacht BLUE is the largest, but she is closely followed by the 146m (479ft) superyacht OPERA and 140m (459ft) superyacht LUMINANCE.
