Viking Yachts All-New Viking 74C Sportsfisher to Make World Premiere at FLIBS 2024

Achieving a 45-knot average during sea trials, the new Viking 74C sportsfisher can be powered by optional 2,600hp MTUs and is optimized for performance with aggressive strakes and chines.

The brand-new Viking 74C (Convertible) has been revealed by Viking Yachts ahead of the sportsfisher making its world premiere and debut at the upcoming 2024 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS).

Building on the success of the Viking 72, the new Viking 74C boasts a refined running surface achieved through the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics software and rigorous testing. Key improvements include aggressive strakes and chines for increased spray deflection and lift, and an optimized length-to-beam ratio for superior ride quality.

During sea trials, the new sportsfisher achieved a 45-knot two-way average and can be optioned with a pair of 2,600hp MTU engines. Viking's latest boat for sale is also equipped with the advanced Viking Propulsion System, consisting of specially shaped struts and rudders to reduce hydrodynamic resistance, further enhancing performance.

The yacht's construction includes resin-infused hulls, structural bulkheads, and lightweight materials such as carbon fiber, maximizing strength and minimizing weight. Design features include a 6-inch raised platform at the helm on the restyled flybridge to improve both forward and aft visibility. The helm also benefits from flush-mounted displays, a console lounge with freezer storage, and split freezers forward.

Moving inside the motor yacht, the salon boasts natural walnut finishes, a large sofa with rod storage, and a well-equipped galley. The standard four-stateroom layout includes ensuite heads and a dedicated rod and tackle room, with options for additional sleeping capacity.

Scheduled to make its world premiere at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, hull No.1 will be an open bridge model powered by optional twin 2,635mhp MTU 16V 2000 M96Ls. Viking Yachts will also offer the 74 as an Enclosed Bridge model (with or without a tuna tower), or a Sky Bridge model.
