Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 30'10" beam and a 11' draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 671 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the tenth yacht built on the Amels 180 design. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in March 2016 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in June 2016.
Exterior Design
The exterior design of Gigagi features a linear profile with a white cream-colored hull and superstructure, accented by a black and red boot stripe. The sun deck is equipped with a helipad at the forward section, which also functions as a sun lounge. Behind this area, a large sun pad is positioned at the front of a seven-person jacuzzi. Underneath the hardtop, there is a sit-up wet bar that can be converted into a dinette when the chef is utilizing the BBQ to port. There is also a lounge area with two sofas surrounding a coffee table, and a large sunbed is located at the aft section.
The bridge deck aft includes an oval table for outdoor dining, protected by an overhang, with additional L-shaped sun lounges that offer optional shading from removable awnings. The main deck aft provides a lounge area with a sofa under the overhang and banquette seating opposite, featuring a coffee table and flanked by club chairs. A starboard sidedeck from the main deck aft leads to a day head off the main lobby, and steps descend to a spacious swim platform with hydraulic bathing steps. From this platform, steps lead into a beach club equipped with a shower, sauna, and day head.
Access to the sidedeck from the bridge deck lobby leads to a Portuguese bridge lounge and two double sunpads. Forward of this is the mooring area and storage for tenders and toys, complete with a deck crane for launching. The overall design prioritizes functional spaces and easy access to various areas of the yacht.
Interior Design
The interior design of the yacht Gigagi, crafted by Italian designer Laura Sessa, emphasizes a monochromatic theme with a high degree of customization. The design incorporates a variety of textures and patterns, including foliage, mother of pearl, and marble. These materials are combined to create a sophisticated environment throughout the yacht.
Guests can enjoy the bridge deck sky lounge, which offers a large lounge area ideal for watching movies on a 110-inch bulkhead-mounted TV. This space is designed for comfort and entertainment, providing an inviting setting for relaxation.
The main deck features a lounge area with sofas and armchairs arranged around a central coffee table, creating a comfortable space for socializing. Adjacent to this is a formal dining area, which is equipped with sliding glass doors on either side. These doors allow access to the sidedeck and provide the option of two fold-down balconies that offer an ocean-side verandah experience.
A fully equipped walk-up bar is located to port on the main deck, providing a convenient space for refreshments. The design ensures that guests have easy access to amenities while maintaining a smooth flow throughout the interior spaces.
Accommodation
The yacht Gigagi is designed to accommodate up to 12 guests in five well-appointed suites. The main deck is home to the full-beam owner's suite, which offers a spacious retreat complete with a double berth to port. The suite also includes a media lounge to starboard, a large fold-out balcony, an en suite bathroom with both a shower and bathtub, a walk-in wardrobe, and a vanity table. Additionally, the owner’s suite features a private office space.
